Terrence A. Thomas is Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Cicrim (pronounced Sai-krem) Consulting, a technology consulting firm specializing in AI-first digital transformation strategies for banks, credit unions and fintechs. He brings more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of banking, technology, and business transformation, most recently serving as EVP & Chief Information Officer at First Bank of North Carolina (FBNC), where he was responsible for the Information Technology, Information Security, Business Continuity Planning, Project Management, Data Management, and Software Development & Cloud Integration. He also led enterprise-wide digital transformation, core banking system modernization, and cybersecurity enhancement initiatives, as well as the integration of customer-facing fintech solutions across both retail and commercial lines of business.
Prior to joining First Bank, Terrence spent 23 years working across the telecommunications, media & entertainment (M&E), and financial services business verticals, which included engineering roles at CNN, ABC Television, and HBO, as well as roles at Morgan Stanley as VP of Enterprise Infrastructure and at Goldman Sachs as VP of Workplace Engineering, where he focused on Architecture & Strategy. He sat on the Client Advisory Boards for both Spectrum and Zoom. He was also a member of Zoom’s Financial Services Industry Council.
He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from The University of Mississippi, as well as an MSc in Telecommunications Management, an MBA in Technology Management, and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.
